Place infuses our work, whether we are consciously trying to describe it, or not. Place-based writing is a subset of place-based learning, and refers to using nature and our local experiences to guide our writing and quest for understanding. We will explore a few works by Ada Limón, Terry Tempest Williams, and Ross Gay. This workshop is designed for anyone who feels disconnected from nature during these at-home times, or anyone who wants to pause and explore how place plays a role in their work. We will end with 3 “take-home” prompts!
